What is Acclimation?

Tile acclimation allows tile materials to adjust to the temperature and humidity conditions of the location where they will installed. Like many building materials, tile can expand or contract based on environmental factors.

Length of time it takes to acclimate will vary from job to job, but how will you know when the time is right?

Along with temperature, humidity, environmental factors and time of year- the material you chose also comes into effect. A great rule of thumb is to wait at least 48 hours- but a longer acclimation time will only benefit the process. Always check the manufactures recommendations- just know ever situation is different and unique.
